Overland Park, KS -- (ReleaseWire) -- 05/10/2016 -- Goody Tickets owner Heather Goodman contributed to the Kansas City Air Show Aviation Expo, held annually to benefit the Mid-America Youth Aviation Association (MAYAA). The August 2015 event featured the United States Navy Blue Angels Jet Team as well as other military and civilian performances. MAYAA's Kansas City aviation professionals and other supporters volunteer to produce the event each year. The Kansas City Aviation Expo and Airshow Facebook page announced May 9 that there will not be a 2016 show.
Children age 12 and younger were invited to attend the 2015 Kansas City Aviation Expo Air Show at no cost to help achieve MAYAA's goal and provide free education to youth. Static exhibits and displays from the National Airline History Museum were on site at the expo, including: Martin 404, Constellation, R44, C-1A Trader, AC-47 Spooky, USAF T-6, Redtail P-51 and more. Songs for Sound appeared at the event on their 12 week tour to raise awareness for hearing health. The United States Navy Blue Angels Jet Team performed and many other performances took place over the two-day event at Wheeler Downtown Airport.
Donations and ticket sales from the Kansas City Air Show benefit the Mid-America Youth Aviation Association. By producing the show, MAYAA is able to provide free education programs and aeronautical opportunities including scholarship programs. Space Camp, Bob Stewart, MAYAA - Brian Jensen College, and Dan L. Meisinger are some of the scholarship programs available. Youth opportunities also include Young Eagles Flights as well as Scouts Aviation Merit Badges. The contributions made by Goody Tickets and other donors allow MAYAA to accomplish their goal of bringing youth together with aviation professionals to learn about careers available in aviation.
